SEACAP has helped my family through bouts of joblessness three times now. They have provided us assistance with Rents, Utilities & More. Each time I have applied for help they have been courteous & respectful. You don't have to sacrifice your dignity to get help here, and you won't be judged based on whether your a minority or NOT. Thanks to all who work with this agency. You have been outstanding.

I have helped a friend who received rent assistance from SEACAP. It was a hard process and it took more than two weeks. The rules that they operate under are unavailable so there is a lack of consistency in how they conduct business.

My mother has requested assistance since February 2, 2015 and she has not received any help. My mom has kept her appointment and taken the information requested. However, every time she has her appointment and takes paperwork she has asked they will ask for additional things. It really feels as if they are making excuses. On March 23, my mother took a letter from me stating she is getting help. The agency refused to help her because it did not have a specific date. The letter had my phone number and did not call. My mother waited two additional weeks and went to the agency. The agency issued a check. A few minutes later the staff called her asking her to return the check because the letter did not have the date I had helped her. They did not bother to call me again. The agency is not handling the situation properly and it makes me very upset. The staff has no consistency and i'm not sure what rules they are following. I am making a formal complaint.
